Purpose of the event

With a deep love for our homeland, we hope to showcase the natural, humanistic, and artistic beauty of Yushan through the eloquent brushstrokes of artists, conveying the spirit of love and passion for our home, Taiwan.

Competition theme

Select at least one theme.

  • Yushan:Convey the beauty of Yushan by using the environmental landscape and cultural/humanistic characteristics of Yushan National Park as the main creative theme. Expressing care for environmental sustainability and a deep regard for nature through painting.
  • Music:Music transcends language, culture, and time to convey people's thoughts and emotions. Integrate musical elements into paintings to showcase the power of music.

Competition eligibility

One person per entry, double entries will not be accepted.

  • General Public Category: People of any age with the R.O.C. nationality.
  • Student Category: Students who are enrolled in high school or above with the R.O.C. Nationality (excluding in-service master's program).
  • Foreigner Category: People of any age with other nationalities (nonnationals).

Entry Requirements

  • Number of entries: One piece of artwork per person. It must be created and signed by the applicant.
  • Dimensions: The dimensions of a single piece or the total dimensions of components must not exceed 72.5 x 91 cm (excluding frames).
  • Material: Oil, acrylic, or gouache paint.
  • If any of the following circumstances applies to an entry, the organizer may disqualify the entry; in addition, the prize money and certificate will be withdrawn:
    1. The artwork is plagiarized, copied, or counterfeited.
    2. The artwork is in violation of the Copyright Act or other relevant laws and regulations.
    3. The artwork has previously participated in open calls for entries or competitions.
    4. Any other violation of the provisions of the Guidelines.

Judging criteria

The organizer will invite renowned academics and professionals in the field of art to form a jury for the preliminary selection and final judging of the entries.

  • Preliminary selection: For online applications, please backup and keep the information of the preliminary selection. Please fill in the application form and upload the photos and related information of the entry on the “E.SUN Art Awards 2026” Event website before the deadline. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

  • Final judging: The entry submitted for the preliminary selection and final judging must be the same artwork. Judging will be done based on the original artwork submitted at the preliminary selection.
    1. Final judging and entry submission for the General Public and Student Categories:
      - Please submit the original artwork in person or by mail to the organizer before 17:30 on August 28, 2026 (Fri). To protect the artwork, please frame it with acrylic, pack it in a cardboard box, and reinforce the four corners of the frame. The organizer will accept the artwork after confirming the artwork's integrity and will issue a receipt to the entrant to facilitate subsequent arrangements for the return of the artwork. The organizer shall not be liable for compensation in an event that the artwork is damaged or lost during personal delivery or mailing, or in an event that the artwork is damaged during loading/unloading due to fragile materials, inadequate protective packaging, lack of unpacking instructions, or other reasons not attributable to the organizer.
    2. Final judging and entry submission for the Foreigner Category:
      - For the Foreigner Category, please roll the shortlisted artwork into a canvas tube, and mail it to the organizer during the designated submission period (airmail recommended) after protective packaging. Shortlisted artists shall bear all shipping costs, insurance, and related expenses. The organizer shall not be liable for compensation in an event that the artwork is damaged or lost during mailing, or in an event that the artwork is damaged during loading/unloading due to fragile materials, inadequate protective packaging, lack of unpacking instructions, or other reasons not attributable to the organizer.
      - The organizer will cover the framing costs for the winning entries in the Foreigner Category.
  • Returning the artwork:The works that were not selected in the final judging will be shipped back by the organizer or may be picked up in person by the entrant within 3 weeks after the final results are announced.
  • The finalists will be announced in late September, 2026 on the homepage of E.SUN Bank's official website and the homepage of E.SUN Bank “E.SUN Art Awards 2026” Event. The organizer will notify the winners individually.
  • Awards ceremony: The organizer will send out invitations (date to be confirmed).

  1. Submission of works for final judging: Office hours of E.SUN Bank are Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30. Submissions will not be accepted on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.
  2. Mailing address for final judging: No. 117, Sec. 3, Minsheng East Road, Songshan District, Taipei City 105, Taiwan.
  3. This table is based on the local time in Taipei, Taiwan. The relevant dates and venues are tentative. The organizer may make changes according to the actual needs. These changes will be announced on the homepage of E.SUN Bank “E.SUN Art Awards 2026” Event at https://event.esunbank.com.tw/mkt/drawesun/esunbank.html.

  • First Prize(1 winner):
    Prize money of NT$ 1 million, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Special Selection(1-3 winners):
    Prize money of NT$ 500,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Outstanding(1-5 winners):
    Prize money of NT$ 200,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
    Student Category:
  • First Prize(1 winner):
    Prize money of NT$ 300,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Special Selection(1-3 winners):
    Prize money of NT$ 200,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Outstanding(1-5 winners):
    Prize money of NT$ 100,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
    Foreigner Category:
  • First Prize(1 winner):
    Prize money of US$ 36,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Special Selection(1-3 winners):
    Prize money of US$ 18,000, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  • Outstanding(1-5 winners):
    Prize money of US$ 7,200, a certificate, and 10 copies of the award-winning artwork collection
  1. Winners must provide their bank account details for remittance.
  2. The prize money for the General Public and Student Categories includes income tax. In accordance with the Income Tax Act of the R.O.C., prize money shall be subject to 10% income tax (20% overseas tax rate) and 2.11% for the 2nd Generation NHI premium will be withheld in accordance with the relevant income tax laws. The organizer shall issue a withholding tax statement, and the prize money shall be included in the winner's comprehensive income tax declaration of the current year.
  3. The prize money for the Foreigner Category includes tax and is subject to the relevant tax laws of the Republic of China (20% overseas tax rate).
  4. The prize money for the Foreigner Category will be remitted to the winner's account in US dollars, and the exchange rate will depend on the date of remittance.

Notes

  • Entries shall comply with the rules and regulations of the Guidelines. If there is any dispute or if the organizer suffers losses as a result, the entrant shall be held fully responsible.
  • All winning entries in all winning categories will be retained in the organizer's collection, with all rights and property rights belonging to E.SUN Bank upon the organizer's collection.
  • Insurance coverage for finalist works: The organizer will take out fine art comprehensive insurance for the finalist works, provided that the relevant insurance liability shall be subject to the clauses contained in the insurance policy. The organizer's liability for the finalist works shall be capped at the maximum compensation amount of the insurance coverage.
    1. Period of insurance: From the date of the entry submission for final judging until the return of the artwork.
    2. Maximum coverage: NT$50,000 per finalist entry.
  • Anyone who submits an entry is deemed to have complied with the provisions of the Guidelines, and shall not raise any objections to the event process or judging results.

  • The results will be announced on the homepage of the E.SUN Bank website. The organizer will notify the shortlisted candidates and winners individually by email.
  • The interpretation of the relevant text in the Guidelines is subject to the organizer's discretion.
  • For any matter that is not covered in the Guidelines, it may be amended and announced as needed.
